We are seeking new members to join our committee and The Schorr Gallery. Hidden in the heart of the West Jordan next to the elevator on the third floor of the city hall, the gallery displays Art in various styles from Utah artists.
Join us in showcasing visual arts include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and mixed media. The gallery's mission is to introduce the community to Art - in all forms - from traditional to contemporary to abstract.
The Schorr Gallery opened in 1994 after William "Bill" Schorr, a German native who moved to Utah in 1925 at the age of 20. He worked to make enough money to bring his entire family to Utah. Eventually, he purchased a farm in West Jordan. He was active in the community and continued to donate to many organizations. He desired to give back to a country that made so much possible to him.
The gallery will open again at a later date TBA. We are looking for volunteers to assist our committee with programs and help display art. The gallery is usually open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 8 am to 5 pm, unless a meeting has been scheduled for the area.
If you'd like to be involved, please contact us at info@wjarts.org.
