Hallelujah! Hallelujah! The West Jordan Symphony is looking for singers for its 30th annual production of selections from Handel's Messiah!
Anyone who is wanting to perform a solo from the monumental work is encouraged to come audition. Every year, we make a set list of what we are looking to perform. We encourage auditionees to first consider auditioning on one of these selected solos; however, if a soloist is wanting to audition on a solo that we did not include, we would still love to hear you and will consider the solo for the performance.
Our selected solos this year are the following:
#2 Comfort Ye my people (Tenor)
#3 Ev’ry Valley Shall be Exalted (Tenor)
#8 Behold, a Virgin Shall Conceive (Alto)
#9 O Thou that Tellest good Tidings (Alto - with Chorus)
#14-16 Shepherds/Angel recits (Soprano)
#18 Rejoice Greatly (Soprano)
#19/20 Then Shall the Eyes/He Shall Feed (Alto)
#38 How Beautiful are the Feet (Soprano)
#45 I know that my Redeemer (Soprano)

If possible, please sign up for the next available audition time so we don’t have any gaps.
If you are unable to attend either of these audition dates, please feel free to send a video recording of your audition. All video auditions must be received by Saturday, October 19, 2024 by 11 am.

Soloists must provide their own accompaniment for online video audition.

In addition, each soloist will be asked to attend 1 or 2 additional rehearsals at a set time to rehearse their solo with the symphony. The soloist will only need to stay for the part of the rehearsal where we are working on their specific piece. These dates and times will vary and we will work those out with each soloist.
